Seniors in long-term care and retirement homes make up over 80 per cent of Canada’s COVID-19 deaths, and there are now over 350 homes with active outbreaks in the country.
For two months, Markhaven Home for Seniors in Ontario faced an outbreak its executive director described in a confidential email to health officials as “unprecedented, extremely time-consuming, chaotic and stressful.”
