With the increasing influx of COVID-19 patients, many Ontario hospitals were forced to transfer patients as staffing in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) is barely holding up.

Toronto’s Humber River ICU is one of the most advanced centres for pandemic response in the country, and its staff say they can’t keep up with the influx of COVID-19 patients.

Eric Sorensen talks to nurses and doctors at the hospital’s ICU, who explain the amount of exhaustion and burden they’re lifting as the province battles the worst-yet third wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
