The Ontario government announced Friday it would lower the threshold on its new colour-coded COVID-19 restrictions as cases surge - bringing Hamilton, Halton and York into the red zone along with Toronto and Peel Region.

Eric Sorensen reports on the government’s tightening of restrictions, and the message to Ontarians.

Across the prairies, provinces have also been grappling with rising COVID-19 cases and on Thursday, Saskatchewan joined Alberta and Manitoba in introducing aggressive new measures to control the spread of the virus. Roberta Bell explains.

Meanwhile, as the provinces struggle to cope with a second wave, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is promising financial aid. But, the pledge comes with a caveat.

As David Akin explains, it involves taking aggressive steps to stem the spread of the virus.
