A new pilot project is underway to vaccinate elderly and medically-vulnerable inmates in Canada's institutions.

But as the project begins, it is facing pushback from some like the Conservative Party's Erin O'Toole.

The Union of Canadian Correctional Officers, however, says safety needs to be put first.
