WATCH: Rep. McClain questions Secret Service director at hearing on attempted Trump assassination

Rep. Lisa McClain, R-Mich., questioned Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle in a House Oversight hearing Monday on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a July 13 campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

McClain asked Cheatle several questions about the FBI's active investigation into the shooting. She wondered why Cheatle would not answer questions if she had the information available.

Throughout the hearing, Cheatle cited the dual ongoing investigations by the FBI and the Secret Service as a reason for not being able to answer lawmakers' questions.
