WATCH: Rep. Raskin questions Secret Service director at hearing on attempted Trump assassination

Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin questioned Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle in a House Oversight hearing Monday on the July 13 attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Without a final internal report, the Democrat asked Cheatle to describe what’s guiding her operational judgments.

Cheatle said in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the agency made adjustments to the security plan for the Republican National Convention and, given the news of President Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 race, also tweaked the security detail for Vice President Kamala Harris.
“I think it just shows how dynamic the environment is that this agency works in every day,” she said.
