A temporary truce period between Israel and Hamas has begun - with the first group of Israeli women and children due to be released later today.

There has been no official word from either side as to whether there has been a pause in the fighting - however, the truce period was due to start at 7am local time (5am UK).

???? Hospital director arrest: Israel Defence Forces said it arrested the director of al Shifa hospital after finding what the IDF claimed was evidence of "extensive terrorist activity" at the complex under his watch.

???? 'Forced' evacuation: The Indonesian hospital in northern Gaza was forced to evacuate 450 of its patients and medical staff, the Hamas-led health ministry said.

???? Warship shoots drones: An American warship shot down multiple one-way attack drones launched from Yemen, US Central Command said.
