Israel says it is now prepared ahead of a major attack on Gaza by air, land and sea - but it's still not clear when its offensive will begin.

On Friday it ordered 1.1 million Palestinians to head from north to south Gaza - but was accused over the weekend of destroying a convoy of evacuees, killing 70 people.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the Israeli military will "demolish" Hamas after their deadly assaults in southern Israel just over a week ago.

Palestinians in Gaza awaiting the major offensive - who already lived under severe restrictions from Israel - are grappling with a worsening humanitarian crisis as clean water, food, fuel and medical supplies run out.
