Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Wednesday said as the state needs to ensure runoff ballots are mailed out to voters soon, the hope is to get all "legal votes" in the Nov. 3 election counted by end of day. He recognized it may be difficult, but said he hopes they can get the number of remaining votes left to be counted small enough so they can determine a winner without further delay.

Georgia is one of the few remaining states that is too close to call, joined by Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada, Michigan and North Carolina.

Raffensperger said they will be doing a statewide audit for the first time this year to verify results. He said as example, if there's a race with a 51-49 per cent split, the audit can verify that result with over 90 per cent confidence level to give voters "assurance."
