More residents were pulled from the rubble in Turkish cities as rescuers continued their efforts to save people from damaged and destroyed buildings on Saturday.
Some of the people pulled out in Hatay and Kahramanmaraş have been trapped for more than 100 hours — some for five days.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan said on Saturday that the death toll had risen to 21,848, with another 80,104 injured. He said crews would work to quickly remove debris and are planning to reconstruct hundreds of thousands of houses with infrastructure and "superstructure."
