A Canadian crew from British Columbia on Friday helped rescue a woman who had been trapped for the past five days under the wreckage of a collapsed building in Adıyaman, Turkey, as rescue efforts continue across the country.

The death toll following the catastrophic earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria has exceeded 20,000 and is expected to climb further.

The magnitude 7.8 quake has already killed more people than Japan’s Fukushima earthquake and Tsunami, with many more bodies undoubtedly yet to be recovered and counted. As Jackson Proskow reports, rescue workers are still holding out hope that more people will be found alive.
