Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau swapped two ministers within his cabinet in a mini-shuffle Wednesday morning.
Filomena Tassi was sworn in as minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency, while Helena Jaczek takes over her former role as public services and procurement minister.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, Trudeau held a media availability where he addressed the government’s confidence in Hockey Canada, the verbal attack on Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland and other issues.
Trudeau said both Canadians and the government have “lost confidence” in the leadership of Hockey Canada, adding that the longer it takes the organization to realize this “the more difficulties they are going to face.”
Trudeau also called on all political leaders to “clearly condemn” attacks on politicians and journalists. He said the “tone” of political debates in Canada is “set by those politicians who get sent to Ottawa to represent their communities.”
