Opposition leaders reacted to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's cabinet shuffle on Wednesday, which saw seven ministers removed from their portfolios.

Speaking in Timmins, Ont., Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre reacted by saying the move is an admission from the federal government that it's "broken." Poilievre claimed that "Trudeau has fired a lot of ministers today [and] admitted his government is broken."

Meanwhile, speaking in Yellowknife, N.W.T., NDP leader Jagmeet Singh said his party is still willing to work with the federal government on key issues that matter to his constituents, like dental care and housing. However, he said that in his view, the shuffle doesn't erase the Trudeau government's previous track record with issues such as housing.

"This government has had eight years to do something about it, and they have not really responded to the seriousness of that problem or the urgency required and Canadians are actually worse off than they were before. So the shuffle does not change their track record," Singh said.
