After the National Education Union rejected the government's pay offer, Sir Keir Starmer has said that "both sides need to get around the table" and that he is "disappointed" by the negotiations.

The Labour leader also addressed the government's announcement on child sex abuse, saying "for a decade we've been calling for stronger measures" but "the government's turned a blind eye."
