NHS strikes: Unite union rejects government's NHS pay offer

Some NHS unions are recommending their members accept a revised 5% pay offer made by the government - but Unite says it will urge workers to reject the proposal.

Health Secretary Steve Barclay said the settlement was affordable while not adding to inflationary pressures, and was a recognition of the hard work by NHS staff during the pandemic.

The offer is believed to centre around a one-off payment this financial year and a revised pay offer for 2023-24.
