Sir Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner will not receive fixed penalty notices from police over an event that it was claimed broke lockdown regulations.

Durham police said the event was "reasonably necessary work".

The pair were filmed eating and drinking in April 2021 at a time when indoor gatherings were banned because of the COVID pandemic.

Both Ms Rayner and Sir Keir had said they would resign if they were fined.
