The lineups were seemingly endless at YVR — Vancouver International Airport — as passengers queued for hours on end due to the overnight snowstorm Tuesday, leaving passengers stranded for hours on end, with mass flight cancellations. YVR called this situation "unprecedented."

"People were confused as to what they were supposed to do," traveller Antoine Thomas said.

As Global's Christa Dao reports, some passengers hoping to rebook in time for their holiday are now being told they're out of luck.

Though currently, the runways at YVR are still congested with many grounded airplanes due to recent snowfall, officials said early Wednesday morning, however, Tuesday’s ground stop has been lifted. To help with departing airplanes, the airport is temporarily limiting arriving international flights for two days.
