A winter storm caused travel chaos in Canada on Friday, leaving many people hoping to get home for the holidays ahead of Christmas, trying to navigate delays and cancellations with some parts of Canada still not yet seeing the snow.

WestJet preemptively cancelled flights at airports in B.C., Ontario and Quebec as storm systems bore down on the regions. Among them are all flights scheduled to arrive and depart Toronto's Pearson International Airport beginning Friday at 9 a.m.

Global's Frazer Snowdon reports on how travellers are reacting and on tips on how to prevent people from getting to the airport, only to find out their travel may have been cut short.
