Scotland scraps next summer's Higher exams after COVID disruption

The Higher and Advanced Highers exams are to be cancelled in Scottish schools in 2021, it has been confirmed.

Education Secretary John Swinney said the decision was based on the disruption by the pandemic and not safety.

The move means that pupils' final grades will be based on the judgement of their teachers with results awarded in August.
