British Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced on Wednesday that travellers to the country from the U.S. and the European Union who are fully-vaccinated would be allowed to enter the country without needing to quarantine effective as of Aug. 2.

Under the current policy, travellers entering England would have to quarantine at home or in the place they're staying for 10 days and take a COVID-19 test on or after their eighth day in the country. Starting Aug. 2, that would no longer apply to visitors from the U.S. or countries in the EU, with the exception of France, which the U.K. deems has higher risk due to presence of the Beta variant of COVID-19 and in turn will still require travellers into England to quarantine.

The announcement also comes just over a week after quarantine for fully vaccinated Britons returning to the U.K. from medium-risk countries was scrapped on July 19.
