Richard Parker elected as West Midlands mayor

Labour's Richard Parker has been declared winner of the West Midlands mayoral race. A big win for Labour - and a bad defeat for Rishi Sunak.

Labour triumphed by just 1,508 votes, meaning incumbent Tory Andy Street is out.

"This is the most important thing I will ever do," Labour's Richard Parker has said after being declared winner of the West Midlands mayoral race.
