Hundreds of people have protested in Niger, fed up with the French troops stationed in the country and the rising cost of living. Niger this year became a hub for Western forces to tackle insecurity in the Sahel region. As part of the package, Niger received aid from France but some residents say it has not brought them any economic benefit.
