Thousands of supporters of Niger’s military coup have started a sit-in outside a military base where French troops are staying in the capital.
They threatened to force their way into the French camp if the military leaders do not evict the French soldiers.
It is the latest escalation in a diplomatic spat between Niger’s new military rulers and France, following the July 26 coup.
