Massive crowds thronged the streets of Toronto on Sunday to take part in Canada’s largest Pride parade.
Torontonians came out in huge numbers to show their support for the LGBTQ2+ community, which has faced a growing number of threats and witnessed attacks on long-sought rights in recent months.
The contentious climate has prompted Pride event planners to significantly step up security efforts. As a result Pride Toronto said it had spent twice as much money on policing for the event than in 2022.
Lexy Benedict reports from Toronto on the festivities.
