Ontario reports lowest number of new COVID-19 cases since September 2020 | FULL

Ontario's chief medical officer of health Dr. David Williams reported on Monday 270 new cases of COVID-19, the lowest daily case count since mid-September.

The doctor said the province’s seven-day average continues to decline, currently at 334 cases as more people are getting vaccinated.

The provincial case total now stands at 542,468, and the death toll in the province has risen to 9,022 as three more deaths were recorded.

The seven-day average has now reached 334, which is down from yesterday at 359, and is down from last week at 503. A month ago, the seven-day average was around 2,000.

As of 8 p.m. on Sunday, more than 12.1 million total COVID-19 vaccine doses were administered in Ontario, with more than 2.9 million people fully vaccinated with two doses which is 24.4 per cent of the adult population.
