A charity is calling on the next government to significantly slash waiting lists for women suffering from endometriosis, with some waiting almost nine years for a diagnosis, according to Endometriosis UK.

The debilitating condition can lead to inflammation and chronic pain for sufferers.

Sanchia Alasia, the national spokesperson for Endometriosis UK, told Sky News the waiting lists were a "big issue" with almost 600,000 people waiting for gynaecology treatment.
