NHS backlog: 6.2 million people on waiting lists for treatment

The number of people waiting more than a year for hospital treatment is 186 times higher than it was before the pandemic began.

The NHS waiting list has been growing every month for nearly two years, and more than one in ten people in England are now waiting for treatment.
