NHS waiting lists hit record high of 4.7 million

The number of people waiting for operations in England have reached 4.7million - the highest since records began in 2007.

The number of people having to wait more than a year for treatment stood at 387,885 in February 2021. The figure for the same month last year - was just 1,613.
