A leading Conservative campaign aide and two parliamentary candidates are now being investigated by the gambling watchdog - over alleged betting on the general election date.
The latest probe involves Conservative director of campaigning Tony Lee - who's taken a leave of absence - and his wife Laura Saunders. Labour and the Lib Dems have called for her to be suspended. Even cabinet minister Michael Gove admitted the situation didn't "look great".
