Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko says outside “ill-wishers” are waging a “hybrid war” against his country.
He said this in response to new sanctions the EU imposed on Belarus and the banning of its national airline over the bloc’s airspace after a plane was diverted and a dissident Belarusian journalist arrested.
Roman Protasevich and his girlfriend Sofia Sapega were detained and now face criminal charges.
Lukashenko threatened to allow migrants and drugs through Belarus' borders to flood the continent.
