Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday that Ukraine was playing a "dangerous game" regarding the nuclear power plant at Zaporizhzhia, accusing Kyiv of "pure lies" with statements suggesting that Moscow plans to blow up the plant.

The UN Atomic Energy Agency has frequently appealed to both sides to avoid shelling in the vicinity of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, Europe's largest, which is located in southern Ukraine but is controlled by Russian forces.

Lavrov also touched upon the Wagner mercenary group that rebelled against Russia. Lavrov, who was speaking at a news conference, said the reaction of many Western officials to Saturday's aborted mutiny by Wagner mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, who had said that the façade of Russian power had cracked, showed indirectly that the same officials were at war with Moscow.

And, he added Russia had evacuated children from orphanages in war zones in Ukraine.
