Labour: Emergency care must be maintained if strikes continue

Shadow health secretary Wes Streeting has appealed to nurses to maintain levels of emergency care in any future strike action.

Mr Streeting accused the government of "making the same mistake" with nurses over junior doctors, by not negotiating directly with them.

He said he fears a repeat of medics striking in the future if the government repeats its "tough" negotiating strategy.
