Labour: 'Children missing school is greatly damaging'

Shadow culture secretary Lucy Powell says the government has a responsibility to negotiate with unions to avoid strike action as children "need face to face teaching".

Ms Powell also criticised both the SNP and Conservatives for the fact that Westminster has intervened in Scotland's new gender reform bill, adding the "last thing we need" is gender recognition becoming "product of a bunfight".
