Drone video released Wednesday captured parts of La Palma island buried under volcanic ash. Homes, buildings, cars and trees were left coated in black ash accumulated from weeks of Cumbre Vieja's ongoing eruption.
The volcano has been erupting since Sept. 19 and has covered 2,780 acres of land so far and destroyed or damaged nearly 2,700 buildings.
Seismic activity has remained high, with 374 quakes registered on Tuesday, breaking the previous record set before the volcano began to erupt more than two months ago. Experts say they see no sign yet of the eruption stopping.
