Drone footage shot on Wednesday showed the extent of devastation that lava streams from the Cumbre Vieja volcano are causing on Spain's La Palma island since the eruption started over a month ago.
In another video, Spain's Geological and Mining Institute (IGME) and the Higher Council of Scientific Investigation (CSIC) showed the opening of a new vent spurting pyroclasts and a huge cloud of white smoke as the main vent kept spurting lava.
Rivers of red-hot lava have engulfed almost 800 hectares of land, destroying about 2,000 buildings and many banana plantations.
