Healthcare workers in the Philippines took to Manila streets to demand better conditions amid the country's Covid surge. On a ‘national day of protest’ the demonstrators marched to the Department of Health (DOH) to demand the resignation of DOH Secretary Francisco Duque and President Rodrigo Duterte, after the government failed to pay promised COVID-19 benefits.
