A Tory MP defecting to Labour looked like an easy win for Keir Starmer, but since the allegations about Natalie Elphicke, there have been disgruntled voices all round.

Recent accusations that Ms Elphicke lobbied the justice secretary in 2020 to interfere in her then-husband's sex offences trial are "nonsense", her spokesperson has said.
