A CEO for a Utah-based digital company is facing criticism this week for various comments that didn't land well, including after praising an employee for giving away his dog and what the CEO called "doing his part" for the company.

It's one of several companies' backlash to "hustle culture," which sees more focus on productivity and ambition with little regard for rest and self care. Global's Anne Gaviola speaks with The Peak Daily podcast's Brett Chang about hustle culture and why the backlash is being seen.

The pair also discuss the recent announcement that Galen Weston would be stepping down as president of Loblaw and if it could mean anything for the grocery chain other than a change at the top.
