Reaction is pouring in to a Global News story about Nazifa, the 10-year-old Afghan girl approved to come to Canada but was murdered by the Taliban.

Nazifa's father had worked alongside the Canadian military. Their family made the long drive to Kandahar to apply for passports, which could have allowed them to escape to Pakistan. But after passing through a Taliban checkpoint last week, one of the guards suddenly started firing at their vehicle. Nazifa was shot in the head.

As Global’s Jeff Semple reports, her death has people wondering why she and her family were not rescued sooner.
