Croydon stabbing: Mayor of London gives statement following death of 15-year-old girl

Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, has spoken to Sky News after a 15-year-old girl was killed in Croydon on Wednesday morning.

He said the community is "shocked, traumatised and heartbroken" by the death of Elianne Andam.

Asked who is responsible for knife crime in London, the mayor said: "The responsibility for knife crime lies with the person doing knife crime."

"Of course we've got to bear down on enforcement... at the same time we've got to give young people constructive things to do."
