COVID-19 pandemic delayed 560,000 surgeries in Canada according to study

As the COVID-19 pandemic drags on, the numbers of postponed surgeries continues to pile up, leaving some patients in a critical waiting game.

A new report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information found that, since the start of the pandemic, hospitals performed about half a million fewer surgeries compared to previous years. On average, that's about 35,000 fewer surgeries per month.
