COVID-19 vaccinations are quickly accelerating throughout Canada, but some provinces are still facing tough pandemic measures as their case counts remain high. Manitoba's third wave of the pandemic continues to worsen, with no signs of relenting.

The province remains the hardest hit by COVID-19 in Canada, with over 5,000 active infections and an average of 240 cases per capita over the last week. Hospitals there are so overwhelmed some patients have been transferred to the neighbouring province of Ontario for treatment. As Heather Yourex-West explains, the worst may still be yet to come.

And in Ontario, hundreds of people defied public health measures and gathered east of Toronto for a parking lot party. And elsewhere, protesters popped up at a vaccine clinic, noisily trying to discourage parents from vaccinating their children. As Sean O'Shea reports, in both cases, police did little to stop them.
