Canada's tighter restrictions to fight the Omicron variant continue to frustrate travellers.

Ottawa is already trying to ease some of the confusing rules, including the use of the ArriveCAN app that's been mandatory for travellers entering the country.

After hundreds of complaints that the app is unreliable, the public safety minister has instructed border services officers to show leniency.

Meanwhile, some travellers are now complaining about the conditions at government-run quarantine hotels, that they are failing to provide basic necessities.

Heather Yourex-West reports on the criticism and how at least one expert believes it's time to shift to a cheaper strategy, which is just as effective.
