Tens of thousands gathered in elaborate costumes on the streets of Toronto Saturday to celebrate Caribbean culture.
Politicians, including Ontario Premier Doug Ford and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, joined those taking in the parade.
The parade gives the Caribbean community the opportunity to teach those from other communities about their culture and to celebrate Toronto’s diversity.
“This actually has to do with celebrating our freedom,” Lateisha Williams told Global News about the celebration.
Ahmar Khan reports.
