Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is the latest person to pull out from the National Rifle Association's (NRA) convention in Houston on Friday, as it draws anger over the event being held just days after at least 21 people died in a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Houston's mayor said the city didn't have the power to cancel this weekend's gathering but suggested the NRA could have postponed the event by a week or two as families try to plan for the funerals of their loved ones.

Among others who have cancelled are performers Paul Simon and Larry Stewart, as well as the maker of the rifle used in the shooting: Daniel Defense. Heather Yourex-West reports on how the city is preparing and the expected protests set to occur.
