The B.C. government enacted additional restrictions in the eastern Fraser Valley on Tuesday, amid high COVID-19 cases and low vaccination rates.

Municipalities affected are Chilliwack, Hope, Mission, Agassiz/Harrison, and Abbotsford.

The eastern Fraser Valley is the latest region that has seen a return to stricter rules to prevent the spread of COVID, after the Central Okanagan in late July and the Northern Health region earlier this month.

British Columbia also won’t be offering third doses of COVID-19 vaccine to those with mixed immunizations, says the province’s top doctor.

Instead, the province will work with Health Canada and public health agencies in other countries to ensure that mixed doses are permitted for international travel.
