Four police officers have testified about the January 6 attack on the US Capitol building to a House of Representatives special committee for the first time.
Former President Donald Trump had encouraged his supporters to interrupt a validation process that would result in him losing the 2020 election.
The officers recounted how the rioters inflicted verbal and physical abuse on them.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi set up the hearing after efforts for a bipartisan commission failed.
