Moroccans on Saturday felt nothing but pride for their national team which holds the fourth spot in the World Cup ranking, achieving "a dream for Moroccans."
Croatia beat Morocco 2-1 in the World Cup third-place playoff and despite Morocco's best efforts to find an equalizer, Croatia held on for victory and the bronze, matching the feat of their heroes from 1998 who also finished third.
"We feel nothing but pride for our national team. Just for the fact that they held their own against schools of soccer, they beat Belgium, Portugal, Spain, and in the end we achieved a historical accomplishment for Arabs and Africans," said a fan watching the match in Casablanca.
Despite the defeat, Morocco also leaves with heads aloft after becoming the first Arab and African side to reach a World Cup semi-final.
