The resident of an Ontario long-term care home got a shock recently when she received a cellphone bill of more than $1,000, a drastic jump from her usual $60 a month price tag. But she says her usage of the phone had never changed.

When Lena Ip's mother got a contract with Fido, it included a calling plan so she could call long-distance numbers without being charged for two years. But when the contract expired this summer, it left Ip's mother with a much bigger cost.

Sean O'Shea reports on what the company is claiming about its communications with the family.
