The Northwest Territories' wildfire crisis has led to an outpouring of support from people anxious to help, by providing food, fuel and shelter to evacuees.

Dozens even worked together to help free and transport animals in danger which were left in stables close to the wildfires' paths of destruction.

Global's Heather Yourex-West reports on the volunteers putting their lives on hold to help their northern neighbours in need.
